Discussion

This was the second of three spits excavated in the north-west corner of area 12AD, to define the sequence of enclosure ditches where they turned from a north-south to an east-west alignment. Now 30cm deep, still no distinction between this material (a sandy silty loam Munsell colour 10YR 4/3) and the individual ditches was noted, and 012AD05289 was subsequently excavated.
